Beautiful Slip-On Hijabs At Jentayu Taman Tun

So there I was,…bored. I decided to go for a cruise that morning in my good ole jalopy. As I drove by through a shortcut to One Utama, I noticed a hijab shop along a row of shop lots in Taman Tun Dr Ismail.
I thought hmmm, let’s take a peek at what they’ve got. The signboard reads Jentayu.
Well names aside, as I stepped into the boutique, I felt a wonderful calm transcending me. (Does Diary of a Shopaholic ring a bell?)
Bahasa-malaysia-simple-fun.com provides a delightful read on the origins of the word Jentayu, which means a fabulous bird believed to be endowed with the power of calling for rain and dew.
However, according to Mr Idham, Jentayu was a combo of the words Jelita, Anggun and Ayu. Three shades of meaning that all say ‘beauty’ in Malay.
At first I thought, you know, no big deal, just your regular hijabs in Jentayu but he was sweet.
He said, “Don’t worry, just have a look , at our store you can try our tudungs, there is no need to feel obliged”.
Apparently, this store also sells the hot selling, exclusive Ariani tudungs. He explained to me that my misgivings for the regular slip-on hijabs would be due to choosing the wrong colors for my skin tone.
The key to wearing this slip-on hijab or any attire is with choosing the right color for your skin tone. The wrong color choice can make you look dark and your face look big.
He says the dilemma is that there are many colors that suits youbut you hate them. And, there are colors that are absolutelyatrocious on you but you love them. That was a mouthful thought.
He pulled me a color I swore I would never wear :( , a warm blue slip-on hijab … Here try this.
I went into the changing room and tried the hijab. (What a relief !– Don’t you just hate those other hijab shops that don’t have changing rooms?)
I was pleasantly surprised . It looked FABULOUS. I MEAN IT!
So I was hooked… Oh Mr Jentayu Man, do tell me more. :)
By this time I was introduced to his wife, a petite and soft spoken young lady who also works at the store. She told me the store follows a special philosophy, ‘Educate and coordinate customers so that they walk out looking their best’,…. I LOVE this concept. The store tailors to your needs and suggests hijabs that actually looks good on you.
Well for me I was smitten. I bought 3 scarves from Jentayu and was ecstatic. I never dreamt of liking these slip-on tudungs but I walked out a satisfied customer plus I now know what colors suit me, Oh Yeah!

Discover what they are by visiting or phoning Jentayu. Ask for Mr Idham.

Fashion month at Sunway gives shoppers a feel good factor

TRUE to its tagline of “Your Unique Shopping Adventure”, Sunway Pyramid has opened up a whole new world of shopping possibilities for its fashion and beauty shoppers throughout the month of May as the mall hails May as Fashion Month.
Themed as “Fashion Glam”, The Fashion Month is timely with the latest Spring Summer 2010 fashion releases.
Shoppers are in good hands under the care of A Cut Above Academy hair stylists cum make-up artists, who took this opportunity to explore their creativity. A stylist will then dress the shoppers up in any image they prefer for a photo shoot and teach them the art of posing in front of camera.
Local celebrity and radio announcer, Jay Menon, recently did her makeover and the results were stunning.
“The stylist picked this dress for me believing that red looks good on my skin and I am extremely pleased with the result of the photo shoot.
I definitely looked like some glamorous chick going out to have some fun at a dinner event with this hair, make-up and dress,” the striking local radio announcer said.
The glam photo shoot is open to all eligible shoppers who are looking for a fashion transformation regardless of gender and age; so even kids, senior citizens and men can have fun participating in this redemption programme. They would then be able to keep their personal glam photo shoot which will be pasted on the front cover of the Sunway Pyramid Fashion Booklet.
“Sunway Pyramid is celebrating fashion with a different approach this year. Unlike other shopping malls, we choose to reward our shoppers and we thought the best way to reward them is by making them look stylish and feel good about themselves. This makeover will give them the exposure and experience one minor part of a glamorous model or celebrity’s life,” says Phang Sau Lian, marketing director of Sunway Pyramid.
Fashion and beauty shoppers who spent over RM300 in two accumulative receipts are eligible for this exclusive treat.
To top it all, the best glam covers shots will stand a chance to be the Next Cover Girl. The same glam cover shot will be uploaded to Sunway Pyramid’s Facebook fan page for an online voting session until May 30.
“We also noticed that blogs and social webpages such as Facebook are a hit with people of all ages thus we also created an online voting contest in our Sunway Pyramid’s Facebook fan page so people can vote for the best cover shot.
“The paparazzi cut-outs and red carpet are additional photo spots for today’s contemporary society who loves taking pictures for their blogs and Facebook profiles,” Phang explained.
Sunway Pyramid has also prepared irresistible contests which totals up to an amazing amount of RM80,000 in prizes.
There is a Grand Prize of RM20,000 cash shopping spree with Jay Menon in the “We Pay Your Fashion Bills & Fashion Spree” contest to be won and 28 year-old Tina Tan Ser Hoon, was the winner.
Tina shopped with Jay Menon as fashion advisor on Tuesday.
Shoppers simply have to spend more than RM100 in any of the fashion and beauty outlets within the mall to be eligible for this contest.
Receipts are valid only from outlets under the following categories (do refer to the mall directory for tenant listings) :-
Beauty & Perfumery, Eyewear & Optical, Fashion-Accessories, Fashion-Children’s/Maternity, Fashion-Ladies, Fashion-Men’s, Fashion-Sports, Fashion-Traditional Wear, Fashion-Undergarments, Fashion-Unisex, Footwear, Haircare & Salons, Jewellery and Timepieces.
